Revealing Anecdotes from Filming the Adultery-Themed 'Baby Girl'
"A New Challenge... I Devoted Myself Completely"
Hollywood star actress Nicole Kidman (57) confessed that she once had to stop filming because she got too excited while shooting an erotic movie.
On the 24th (local time), the British publication The Sun recently conducted an interview with Kidman about her latest film, "Babygirl."
"Babygirl" is an erotic thriller that tells the story of a middle-aged woman living a comfortable life who becomes involved in an affair with a younger man.
In the film, Kidman plays Romy, a successful CEO of an e-commerce company with a loving husband and two daughters.
However, every night after her husband falls asleep, she goes to another room to watch pornography on her laptop, expressing a desire to break free from her routine life. Eventually, Romy becomes attracted to a 21-year-old intern working in the same office and begins a dangerous love affair.
In the interview, Kidman revealed that she became so overwhelmed during the intense scenes that she could not continue acting, and the repeated distress brought her close to burnout.
Kidman added, "I had great trust in my co-star (Harris Dickinson), but sometimes I felt frustrated and thought, 'Don't touch me anymore.'"
She continued, "Throughout my acting career, I have always wondered, 'Where have I not been? And what can I explore as a human being?' The acting in this film was an area I had never challenged before, and I devoted myself completely in every aspect."
Kidman won the Best Actress award at the 81st Venice International Film Festival this year for "Babygirl." Critics praised her performance as "the most erotic acting to date."
The film will be released in the United States during the Christmas season and will open in the United Kingdom on January 10. It is also scheduled to be released domestically in the first half of next year.
