Students from the Department of Medical Skin Beauty at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do, Department Head Jang Jeong-hyun) won numerous awards, including the highest honor, the International CIDESCO Headquarters President Award, and the Korea Committee President Award of the International Skills Olympics, at the ‘2024 Republic of Korea CIDESCO Beauty Therapy Online Skills Competition Award Ceremony’ held on the 10th.

This competition, the largest skin beauty contest in Korea with 1,422 participants, was hosted and organized by the Korea Skin Beauty Association Central Committee and the Korea Branch of International CIDESCO, supported by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Employment and Labor, Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and the Korea Committee of the International Skills Olympics. It was held via online live broadcast from September 25 to 27.
The 38 students from the Department of Medical Skin Beauty who participated achieved remarkable success, winning 1 International CIDESCO Headquarters President Award, 1 Korea Committee President Award of the International Skills Olympics, 11 Korea Branch President Awards of International CIDESCO, 9 Korea Skin Beauty Association Central Committee President Awards, 9 Gold Awards, and 4 Silver Awards.
Kim Min-chae (2nd year, participant in the general division Bamboo Therapy), who received the International CIDESCO Headquarters President Award, said, “I am happy to have achieved such a good result in the competition I participated in with the support of my peers and professors.” She added, “I believe this is the fruit of endless study and effort under the guidance of Professor Jang Jeong-hyun, who told me that ‘skill is self-esteem.’ I will become a Dongpijang who widely promotes healing and therapy using bamboo, the third hand.”
Students in the Department of Medical Skin Beauty at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology receive practical guidance from field expert mentors through activities in the university’s start-up club ‘Skinix’ and the major club ‘Dongpijang’ from the time of admission. They also cultivate practical skills through collaboration with peers by participating in various skin beauty competitions.
