Kakao Mobility announced on the 23rd that it will participate in Kakao's developer event 'if kakao 2024' to share its technology vision. If kakao is an event where developers from all affiliates participate to showcase their technical capabilities.

At this event, which runs from the day before until the 24th, Kakao Mobility will participate in a total of six sessions to give presentations. Aligned with the core theme of artificial intelligence (AI), it plans to share its vision for future mobility technologies and services with event participants. Presentations will cover future mobility AI technologies such as autonomous driving and robot delivery, as well as cases of web accessibility improvements.

First, Jang Seong-wook, head of Kakao Mobility’s Future Mobility Research Institute, will give a presentation on the theme of ‘AI Devices in Everyday Life’ during the 'AI Life Tech' session starting at 10 a.m. on the 24th. In this session, he will explain Kakao Mobility’s AI technologies and current service status, including autonomous driving and the robot delivery service 'BRING.'

In particular, he will present operational strategies such as task management of AI devices that vary depending on the delivery target and route, and a digital map developed in-house that helps make the driving process smooth and safe. He will also discuss the operation of a control system that efficiently manages all AI devices and allows remote monitoring and response in case of issues, as well as the vast data and algorithms that predict AI device demand and calculate driving algorithms.

Kakao Mobility will also hold presentations sharing the process of technology development and service improvement. Choi Jong-seon, manager of Kakao Mobility’s Platform Development Office, will present on the topic ‘Development of an ESlint Plugin to Assist Accessibility Work.’ This case involves creating an optimized plugin that automatically applies the standard guidelines of ‘web accessibility’ when developers write code, ensuring that people with disabilities or the elderly can access website information just as easily as non-disabled users.

The Kakao Mobility Picker Development Team will hold a session titled ‘Robot Delivery That Can Do Anything! The Real Story of a Working Platform’ to introduce the robot delivery platform BringOn. BringOn is a robot open application programming interface (API) platform that enables integration of various items such as food, beverages, documents, and parcels with different types of robots. It defines a standard communication protocol for robots and features automatic processing of user orders received through various channels, minimizing administrator intervention.

Meanwhile, Kakao Mobility will also operate an exhibition space where visitors can experience technologies such as autonomous driving, digital twin solutions, and the robot service BRING. Exhibits include autonomous vehicles developed with in-house technology, various types of mobile mapping systems (MMS) that generate digital twins, and robots for the BRING service, along with scenario videos explaining each technology.
