‘Feast of Flavors’ Hongseong Global Barbecue Festival Opens on the 1st of Next Month

Plan to Expand Barbecue Facilities and Introduce Unique Menu Items

Hongseong County in Chungnam will once again present a diverse feast of barbecue this year.

The county announced that the '2024 Hongseong Global Barbecue Festival' will be held from November 1 to 3 at the Hongju Eupseong area.

The inaugural Hongseong Global Barbecue Festival, held last year, attracted a crowd of 470,000 people and was a great success.

Building on this success, the county plans to expand the number of barbecue facilities to 62 units across 7 types this year, offering unique menus such as tunnel barbecue and doreure grill barbecue to captivate visitors' palates.

In particular, the popular YouTubers and the Weber Barbecue Zone, which received a great response last year, will also be part of the event again.

Alongside a variety of foods, visitors can also enjoy a range of performances such as musicals, traditional performing arts, and busking, which are expected to draw much attention.

For visitor safety, the county will install four safety management towers and equip each barbecue facility with K-class fire extinguishers. For convenience, individual kiosks and a cash payment system for each booth will be introduced to minimize inconvenience.

The county has also secured 14 parking lots near the festival venue and arranged shuttle buses running between Hongseong Terminal and Hongseong Station. In addition, in cooperation with Cheongwoon University, a free caravan camping site for outside visitors will be operated.

Lee Yongrok, the mayor of Hongseong County, said, "Everyone is working together with one heart and mind to ensure the successful hosting of this festival," and added, "We will make sure that the Hongseong Global Barbecue Festival becomes a leading food festival not only in Chungnam but across the nation."
