First Jeonju Office Opened as a Specialized Real Estate Asset Management Company
Kim Taehyun, Chairman of National Pension Service, Anticipates Cooperation with Heinz
Hines, a global real estate investment company managing entrusted assets of the National Pension Service, has opened a liaison office in Jeonju and officially started its operations. This opening is notable as it is the first case of a real estate specialized entrusted management company establishing an office in Jeonju.
At the opening ceremony of the Hines Jeonju liaison office held on the morning of the 22nd in Manseong-dong, Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do Special Autonomous Province, attendees included Kim Taehyun, Chairman of the National Pension Service, David Steinbach, Hines' Global Chief Investment Officer (CIO), and Adam Hines, grandson of founder Gerald Hines and the company's Chief of Staff.
Hines is a global real estate investment firm with 67 years of experience. It operates assets totaling $93 billion USD through approximately 5,000 professionals across 31 countries. Since 2010, the company has been managing the National Pension Service's real estate investment assets on a discretionary basis.
The opening of Hines' Jeonju liaison office aims to strengthen the partnership with the National Pension Service and support the growth of Jeonju's financial sector. Through this office, Hines plans to provide various strategic supports such as investment advisory and capital market research and analysis.
David Steinbach, CIO, stated, “The opening of the Jeonju liaison office demonstrates Hines' firm commitment to customer-centric management,” adding, “We are honored to support Jeonju’s vision as a financial hub and contribute to sustainable development.”
Chairman Kim Taehyun said, “The opening of this liaison office has laid the foundation for close cooperation with Hines,” and expressed hope that “based on nearly 15 years of collaboration with Hines, we will work together for the growth of the Jeonju community and the advancement of financial services.”
Meanwhile, in addition to Hines, a total of five companies including global custodian banks State Street Bank (SSBT), BNY Mellon, asset management firms Franklin Templeton, BNY Mellon Asset Management Group, and Blackstone have also established bases in Jeonju to collaborate with the National Pension Service.
