Design Overhaul and Full-Space Open Remodeling Construction
The Korea Manhwa Contents Agency announced on the 22nd that it has completed the remodeling of the ‘Manhwa Imagination Station’ at Sangdong Station in Bucheon and will reopen it.
The Manhwa Imagination Station is a space designed to strengthen the brand of Bucheon as a manhwa city and to allow citizens to view and experience the achievements of the manhwa industry. The existing 'Manhwa Imagination Station' was an indoor space that was difficult for users to access, so it was redesigned with manhwa-inspired design and remodeled to open up the entire space, increasing its usability.
Through the remodeling work carried out for about a month starting in September, the agency digitalized not only the spatial configuration of the Manhwa Imagination Station but also overall facility management, while introducing an unmanned operation system to improve operational efficiency. Visitors can use the facilities more freely through the remodeling, and the experience zone and photo zone provide a unique experience for citizens and tourists.
Lee Yong-cheol, team leader of the Korea Manhwa Contents Agency, said, “Through this remodeling, we aimed to create a space at Sangdong Station on Line 7, where there is a large user base, to feel Bucheon as a manhwa city and to enhance cultural communication with citizens.” He added, “It will be a place to share Bucheon’s manhwa industry achievements and provide new cultural experiences through manhwa.”
The Manhwa Imagination Station introduces representative domestic manhwa works, including winners of the Bucheon Manhwa Awards. Along with this, regular content updates will provide fresh experiences even for repeat visitors.
