As the U.S. presidential election approaches, the PolitiFi coins of presidential candidates are heating up the cryptocurrency market, and in Korea, Polymarket, which combines politics and economics, is being attempted for the first time.
On the 21st, according to 'The 815 Foundation,' four types of PolitiFi Polimeme coins reminiscent of prominent domestic politicians were issued. PolitiFi coins are used in overseas digital markets as expressions of support for specific candidates, and the trading volume and price of coins associated with particular politicians fluctuate sharply depending on political and economic issues, serving as a barometer of the political landscape.
In the U.S. presidential election, the Trump PolitiFi coin, which showed an advantage in the Trump-Biden contest, exhibited rapid changes in trading volume and price with the emergence of candidate Harris, demonstrating immediate reactions to political issues.
Looking at overseas cases, PolitiFi meme coins reminiscent of prominent domestic politicians are expected to allow immediate verification of how their value is evaluated in the market and how various political issues affect individuals positively or negatively. Especially considering that the reactions of producers and consumers in the digital economy, sensitive to various political and economic issues, are instantly reflected in trading volume and prices, image, agility, and policy are expected to be key factors determining PolitiFi meme coin prices and trading volumes.
A representative of 'The 815 Foundation' stated, "Although meme coins, like collecting baseball cards for fun, have no particular meaning, they can play a role in sparking new politics by observing market reactions to political issues," and added, "The PolitiFi meme coins launched domestically for the first time this time have no direct or indirect relation to any specific politician or political party."
'The 815 Foundation' plans to donate a certain percentage of the proceeds from Polimeme coin sales to various organizations.
Meanwhile, in the U.S., dozens of meme coins are traded in the cryptocurrency market, including 'MAGA,' 'MAGA Hat,' 'Doland Tremp,' and 'Super Trump' symbolizing Donald Trump; 'KAMA' named after candidate Harrison; and 'BODEN' symbolizing President Biden.
