To innovate its work system, the Rail Network Authority has been operating a 'Work System Innovation Task Force (TF)' since June. Recently, a full TF meeting was held at the headquarters in Daejeon, where plans to rationalize internal regulations and 31 implementation tasks for global standardization were finalized.
Specifically, among a total of 323 internal regulations (including rules, detailed regulations, guidelines, standards, and processes), overlapping or similar items will be boldly consolidated or abolished, and contents causing unnecessary work and practices will be deleted or adjusted. The plan is to complete this by next month through workshops and external expert consultations. The 31 global standardization implementation tasks selected through an internal idea contest will be completed by December next year after external expert advice.
Lee Seong-hae, Chairman of the Rail Network Authority, said, "All employees will grow as 'Engineering inspired Innovators,' and to leap forward as a global engineering innovation company, we will reduce unnecessary work at the field level." He added, "By establishing efficient work processes applying global standards within the Authority, we will secure competitiveness in the global railway market and lead the railway industry."
