Lotte Duty Free has fully renovated and reopened its Tokyo Ginza store in Japan for the first time in eight years. The existing duty-free store has been expanded to include a tax-free store. The blueprint aims to expand the customer base to local Japanese residents and make a fresh leap forward.

On the 17th, Lotte Duty Free announced that it held a grand renewal opening ceremony at the Tokyo Ginza store in Japan the day before. About 150 people attended the opening ceremony, including Kim Joo-nam, CEO of Lotte Duty Free, Shin Yoo-yeol, Head of Future Growth at Lotte Holdings, Tama Tsuka Kenichi, CEO of Lotte Holdings, and the popular idol group RIIZE, who are models for Lotte Duty Free. At this event, CEO Kim Joo-nam stated at the business strategy presentation, "We will make a fresh leap forward with a hybrid strategy that satisfies both local Japanese and foreign tourists."

Lotte Duty Free first obtained a city duty-free store license in Tokyo, Japan, in 2016 and opened its doors. It is located on the 8th and 9th floors of Tokyu Plaza Ginza near Ginza Station, and after the first renewal in July, it underwent about three months of refurbishment before the grand opening on this day. With this renewal, the 8th floor of the Tokyo Ginza store has been converted into a tax-free store, and the 9th floor into a duty-free store. The tax-free store allows customers to purchase items first and then receive a tax refund, making it accessible to local Japanese residents as well.

The tax-free store sells K-fashion and K-pop products. New K-fashion brands favored by the local Japanese MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), such as Musinsa, Covernat, Stand Oil, Gloni, and Grove, have also opened stores. A character specialty store has been set up, selling about 3,000 popular character products including Bellygom, Janmang Loopy, and One Piece. The duty-free store has welcomed 'House of Suntory' for the first time in the Kanto region of Japan. Here, customers can find Suntory single malt whiskies such as Yamazaki, Hibiki, and Hakushu. Japanese representative cosmetic brands such as Ipsa, Nars, and Pola have also been added.

To commemorate the renewal opening of the Lotte Duty Free Tokyo Ginza store, all items on the 8th floor tax-free store will be sold at up to 10% discount until the 31st. Additionally, customers who purchase over a certain amount will receive gifts such as RIIZE photo booth shooting tickets and RIIZE photo cards. Customers who purchase products until the end of the year will be entered into a draw to receive albums signed by RIIZE members.
