Some test takers are preparing a class-action lawsuit regarding the controversy over the leak of the 2025 academic year Yonsei University early admission natural sciences essay exam questions.

On the 16th, posts about pursuing a class-action lawsuit related to this essay exam appeared on online communities related to college admissions.


The author of a post titled "Recruiting for Yonsei University Essay Class-Action Lawsuit" stated, "As the school has offered meaningless solutions, we plan to initiate a class-action lawsuit for a retake of the natural sciences math essay exam." A link to an open chat room for test takers and parents to participate was also shared.


Test takers and parents plan to file a lawsuit requesting the invalidation of the exam, claiming that the fairness of the essay exam was compromised, along with a motion for a provisional injunction to suspend its effect.

On the 12th, at one of the test sites where the Yonsei University early admission natural sciences essay exam was held, the exam papers were distributed about an hour before the exam started due to a supervisor's mistake, and then collected again.


After the exam that day, natural sciences exam questions and practice answers, presumed to have been photographed by test takers, were shared on online communities. This raised criticism that management and supervision, such as restrictions on mobile phone use during the exam, were lax.


Yonsei University apologized to test takers and parents through the admissions office website on the 15th, three days after the incident, and announced measures to prevent recurrence, including a reinspection of the exam management system.


Yonsei University stated that no objective evidence was found that the exam questions, which were photographed before the exam started, were leaked in a way that compromised the fairness of the admissions process.


On the 15th, Yonsei University reported six test takers who illegally photographed and posted the exam questions online to the police on charges of obstruction of business. The university also stated it will investigate whether any acts that compromised fairness during the exam process occurred.
