On the 14th (local time), according to local media such as CNN UK and The Guardian, a British man visiting Spain fell to his death while climbing a 192-meter-high bridge. The mayor's office of Talavera de la Reina, a city in central Spain, stated in a press release the previous day, "A 26-year-old British man fell while climbing the Castilla-La Mancha Bridge."

Macarena Mu?oz, the city councilor in charge of citizen safety, explained, "The man visited the bridge to create content to post on SNS and was accompanied by a 24-year-old British man." She added, "Climbing the Castilla-La Mancha Bridge is completely prohibited, and such actions are not allowed under any circumstances."

The British Foreign Office said it has not disclosed the name of the deceased citizen but is supporting the bereaved family in Spain and is in contact with local authorities. The Castilla-La Mancha Bridge, where the accident occurred, was opened in 2011 and is the highest cable-stayed bridge in Spain, spanning the Tagus River. The structure of this 192-meter-high bridge consists of a concrete main tower with multiple cables arranged in a triangular shape at the center.
