Assemblyman Kwon Young-jin and Daegu City and District Council Members Visit Nowon-gu Bulamsan Healing Town

Nowon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced on the 4th that a delegation of 10 members, including Kwon Young-jin, National Assembly member for Dalseo-gu B, Daegu, and city and district councilors from Daegu, visited Bulamsan Healing Town for benchmarking purposes.

Bulamsan Healing Town is a diverse natural experience space that includes the Azalea Hill with 100,000 blooming azalea bushes and a Butterfly Garden where butterflies can be seen year-round. It features Seoul's first Garden Support Center, a Forest Healing Center, a Children's Forest Experience Center, an accessible deck trail, and an elevator observatory, among various other facilities.

This visit aimed to listen to the natural-friendly park facilities and operational cases of Nowon-gu and to explore applicable measures for enhancing the prestige of Duryu Park, a representative park of Daegu.

Duryu Park is the largest park in Daegu, established in 1977 with an area of approximately 500,000 pyeong (about 1.65 million square meters). Since then, many cultural, sports, and recreational facilities have been developed. The 83 Tower, located at the summit of Duryu Mountain, is a 200-meter-high observatory and a landmark of Daegu, offering panoramic views of the city.

The visiting group toured the Garden Support Center and then visited the Butterfly Garden, where they received explanations about the facility's construction details, butterfly breeding methods, and operational status. The Butterfly Garden, very popular among visitors to Bulamsan Healing Town, allows visitors to see butterflies throughout all four seasons, attracting visitors year-round. They also toured and experienced key facilities such as the Forest Healing Center and the Children's Forest Experience Center.

District Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “It is meaningful to introduce Bulamsan Healing Town, the district’s representative facility equipped with various programs such as gardening, healing, and experience.” He added, “Through this benchmarking, we hope that various facilities and programs will be introduced to Duryu Park so that citizens can enjoy richer leisure time.”
