Taste Royal Court Cuisine in the Kitchen of Gyeongbokgung Palace

'Suragan Tasting Empathy' Event

The Cultural Heritage Administration's Palace and Royal Tombs Headquarters and the National Heritage Promotion Agency will hold the 'Suragan Tasting Experience' event at Gyeongbokgung Palace from the 23rd to the 31st. The event offers royal cuisine, traditional performances, and games in Sojubang, the palace kitchen of Gyeongbokgung.

The event is divided into 'Night Saenggwabang' and 'Sojubang Gourmet.' Participants in the former can enjoy traditional Korean music performances while tasting royal tea and snacks. In the latter, attendees can savor royal dishes while enjoying theatrical performances.


The Palace and Royal Tombs Headquarters also operates the 'Kitchen Alley,' where visitors can taste royal snacks such as raspberry jeonggwa and persimmon. There is also a venue for hands-on experiences like making traditional five-colored dasik (tea cookies) and bojagi (traditional wrapping cloth) keychains.


The event is conducted by lottery for applicants who apply for tickets in advance. Ticket applications open on the 2nd at 2 PM and continue until the 6th on Ticketlink. Winners can select their preferred date to finalize their reservation. Each session has a capacity of thirty-two people. Participants who visit wearing hanbok will receive a souvenir.
