Changwon Coast Guard in Gyeongnam is conducting a search operation for a missing man in his 20s in the waters off Heungnam Beach in Geoje.
According to the Changwon Coast Guard, a man in his 20s, identified as A, went missing after falling into the water while swimming about 30 meters off Heungnam Beach in Jangmok-myeon, Geoje, at around 3:19 p.m. on the 28th.
A, who was struggling in the water, disappeared, and upon receiving the report, the Changwon Coast Guard urgently dispatched patrol vessels, coastal rescue boats from Sinhang and Gohyeon substations, the Changwon Rescue Team, Navy vessels and helicopters, as well as drones and all available resources.
The Changwon Coast Guard continued the search for the missing person from early morning on the 29th, following a night search the previous day, but it was reported that the operation was hampered by worsening weather conditions, including a high seas warning at the scene.
