Lee Jun-seok, a member of the Reform New Party, and Cheon Ha-ram, also from the Reform New Party, have attracted attention with their so-called 'early morning digging' photos, while Choi Seo-won (formerly Choi Soon-sil)'s daughter Jung Yoo-ra publicly mocked them.
On the 24th, Jung posted on her social media service (SNS) Facebook a photo of Lee and Cheon visiting Chilbulsa and digging the ground for a commemorative tree planting, saying, "Lee Jun-seok, digging alone at 4 a.m. and picking his nose, no matter how many times you watch, he is Lee Jun-seok XX (a subordinate's vulgar term)," and mocked, "No matter how many times you do this, at best, you're still Lee Jun-seok." She continued, "What kind of life is it to dig at 4 a.m. for Lee Jun-seok... (omitted) It's a drama that cannot be watched without tears."
Earlier, on March 1st, a photo of Lee and Cheon planting red plum blossoms at Chilbulsa in Hadong, Gyeongnam, was released and became a hot topic. Regarding the situation at the time, Lee explained, "I was about to go up to Seoul at 4 a.m., but Mr. Myeong Tae-gyun and the head monk asked me to plant a commemorative tree, prepared the tree, and were waiting in front of the car." In particular, Lee denied suspicions, saying, "Some people said, 'Is this some kind of shamanistic ritual?' If so, wouldn't we have to prepare the tree ourselves?"
