Gyeonggi Province encouraged delinquent tax collection activities of local governments and evaluated the special collection performance for the first half by dividing 31 cities and counties into three groups based on the scale of local tax delinquency. In this evaluation, Yongin City competed in Group 1 with 10 cities including Goyang and Seongnam and received the highest rating.

The city explained that it received consistently high scores in six categories: delinquent tax collection rate, virtual asset delinquent disposition, house searches, illegal vehicle clearance, real estate auction, and trust property delinquent disposition. In particular, the city was highly evaluated for various on-site collection activities such as ▲establishing and implementing delinquent tax collection measures ▲virtual asset delinquent disposition ▲seizure of claims (including lease deposits) ▲house searches ▲seizure of movable property ▲illegal vehicle operation suspension orders and forced towing, collecting 26.1 billion KRW, which is 25% of the 104 billion KRW local tax delinquency at the beginning of the year.

Lee Sang-il, mayor of Yongin City, said, "We will continue to track high-amount delinquent taxpayers to the end and provide trusted administrative services by giving livelihood-type delinquent taxpayers opportunities for rehabilitation."
