Book Review Contest Held for 307 Elementary, Middle, and High School Students
15 Outstanding Works to Be Presented at Busan Education Hanmadang
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will hold a ‘Book Review Writing Contest’ for 307 elementary, middle, and high school students in the Busan area at Nollimaru in Seomyeon and Geo Partners at 9 a.m. on the 21st.
This contest aims to foster students’ critical thinking and logical expression skills, as well as to increase interest in reading-related writing by encouraging them to analyze and evaluate the content of books through writing.
From the 2nd to the 11th, participating students read one of the 14 pre-selected books for each school level (elementary, middle, and high school) and submitted a book review outline. On the day of the contest, they will write a book review on-site within 100 minutes.
The Busan Office of Education will select 15 outstanding entries to receive the Superintendent’s Award, and the winners’ reviews will be presented at the Busan Education Festival Book Review Presentation, which will be held at BEXCO this November.
It is expected that through this contest, students will be able to broaden and deepen their thinking, and experience the joy of creative writing by writing and sharing their own book reviews with others, thus creatively interpreting life and the world.
Ha Yoonsoo, Superintendent of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “This contest will provide students with an in-depth reading experience and a valuable opportunity to develop critical thinking and logical expression skills through writing. The Office of Education will do its best to help students grow into creative future talents through writing and reading education.”
