Eyewitness testimonies have emerged confirming that the recent online controversy over the 'Jamsil Baseball Stadium spectator seats feces incident' was an unfounded rumor.

Earlier, on the 17th, during the KBO League game between the Doosan Bears and Samsung Lions at Seoul's Jamsil Baseball Stadium, claims spread that human feces had been found in the spectator seats. The impact of the rumor grew as photos appearing to show the excrement were shared on social media platforms (SNS).

On that day, an X (formerly Twitter) user A wrote, "Someone defecated in front of the table at Jamsil Baseball Stadium," followed by another netizen B posting a photo of an object presumed to be feces.

Another rumor also circulated. SNS user C claimed, "Two women were eating tteokbokki, dakgangjeong, pizza, etc., when one of them needed to go to the bathroom, but since the exit was crowded, they ended up defecating at the table," adding, "I saw them roughly cover it with a black bag."

However, these rumors have been confirmed to be baseless. A netizen who took the controversial photo appeared and stated, "The photos I posted show the area after it was cleaned and disinfected," explaining, "The part that looked like feces was just the floor finishing material flipped over."

On the 19th, another netizen who reported the feces to staff said, "I looked closely and it did not seem like feces. There were feathers mixed in, so it was probably cat droppings."

He added, "I was watching the game from that area, and if someone had defecated there, the photographers (jjikdeok) would have noticed," and "With so many fans around, it would have been immediately photographed."

Among netizens who learned about the incident, reactions such as "It wasn't feces," "The rumor was unreasonable logically," and "With so many photographers, how could someone defecate there?" expressed disbelief and ridicule.
