Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju (District Mayor Park Byeong-gyu) will hold the "2024 Gwangsan-gu Resident Participatory Budget Festival" at the Gwangsan Culture and Arts Center on the 26th under the slogan "Resident Participatory Budget with Citizens as the Main Agents."

The Resident Participatory Budget Festival is a platform for sharing and discussion to implement policies desired by citizens, organized to select projects to be reflected in the 2025 Resident Participatory Budget (Autonomous Planning Type).

At this event, representatives from 21 neighborhoods will present proposed projects, along with cultural performances.

On the first floor lobby of the Gwangsan Culture and Arts Center, a Resident Participatory Budget gallery will be operated. Visitors can see the "Jushelleng! The Best Resident Participatory Budget Restaurants Selected by Citizens" (excellent projects completed in 2023) exhibition and various 2025 proposed projects highlighting outstanding village agendas.

The proposed projects announced on this day were directly discovered by citizens to solve village problems, including 40 projects such as ▲ Creating alleys people want to connect through ▲ Let's visit the Harmony Hill ▲ Starting carbon neutrality in daily life with us ▲ Do you know the Hogajeong? and more.

The selected projects are scheduled to be included in the 2025 main budget. At the Resident Participatory Budget Festival, the top three most anticipated projects will be selected by combining on-site voting, online pre-voting, and evaluation results, and awards will be given for "Newly Award," "Beneficial Award," and "Sustainability Award."

Park Byeong-gyu, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, said, "The Resident Participatory Budget Festival is a place to share the fruits of the resident participatory budget that citizens have built together, and we ask for your great interest and participation," adding, "We will actively support the resident participatory budget so that it can benefit the lives of citizens."
