Preparation for Chuseok Holiday... Request for Inspection of Fire Vulnerabilities and Active Fire Safety Management Activities

The Gyeonggi-do Northern Fire and Disaster Headquarters is conducting on-site safety inspections at Guri Traditional Market and Guri Station on the 11th to prevent major fires and other disaster accidents during the Chuseok holiday period.

The Gyeonggi-do Northern Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 12th that it conducted on-site safety inspections at Guri Traditional Market and Guri Station on the 11th to prevent large-scale fires and other disaster accidents during the Chuseok holiday period.

Fifteen people participated in the on-site safety inspection, including Hong Jang-pyo, head of the Northern Fire and Disaster Headquarters, the chief of Guri Fire Station, and members of the Guri Volunteer Fire Brigade. During the inspection, fire prevention campaigns were conducted and fire vulnerability factors were checked to preemptively block the possibility of fires and safety accidents and to strengthen the autonomous safety management capabilities of related personnel.

Guri Traditional Market, with 393 stores, is a traditional market with many facilities handling various fire sources and densely packed stores, designated as a "Fire Prevention Reinforcement Zone" under special management. Guri Station on Subway Line 8 is a newly established station with two floors above ground and two floors underground, opened on the 10th of last month. It is equipped with the longest escalator in Korea (65m), making safety management crucial when many passengers gather.

Hong Jang-pyo, head of the Northern Fire and Disaster Headquarters, urged the merchants' association and Guri Station officials who participated in the on-site inspection, saying, "Let us do our best to create a safe place free from fires and safety accidents through active fire safety management activities so that all residents can have a safe and happy Chuseok holiday."
