Osan-si Supports Lifetime Education Vouchers for People with Disabilities

Osan City in Gyeonggi Province will provide the '2024 Lifelong Education Voucher for Persons with Disabilities' to registered persons with disabilities in the city.

This project aims to expand opportunities for lifelong education participation and support capacity building for persons with disabilities. The city will participate in the Ministry of Education's public project and implement it from the second half of the year.

The support target is registered persons with disabilities in Osan City aged 19 or older, and a subsidy worth 350,000 KRW per person per year will be provided as a voucher. The voucher can be used for tuition fees and textbook costs at 2,922 educational institutions nationwide registered on the 'Lifelong Education Voucher' website.

Registered persons with disabilities who wish to apply can do so through the 'Bojogeum24' website or the 'Government24' mobile app. If online application is difficult due to severe disability, applicants can visit the Osan Lifelong Learning Center with their ID and disability registration card.

The city plans to select 28 people on a first-come, first-served basis in the following order: first priority for basic livelihood security recipients, second priority for near-poverty class, and third priority for general applicants (regardless of income). However, general lifelong education voucher users and those receiving national scholarships under the 'Scholarship Foundation Act' are excluded from eligibility to prevent duplicate benefits.

Selected recipients will be issued a Lifelong Education Hope Card (NH Nonghyup) and are expected to use it within the year. For more details, please contact the Osan Lifelong Learning Center.
