On the 6th, Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it received a donation of ramen worth 7 million KRW for low-income vulnerable groups in the area from the fan cafe ‘Daehan Minjun’ of singer Song Minjun, who is the city’s promotional ambassador.
The 523 boxes of ramen delivered on the 5th were purchased with funds collected by the fan cafe members through small contributions, and will be distributed to low-income vulnerable groups in the Paju area.
The singer Song Minjun fan cafe ‘Daehan Minjun’ also donated 200 bags of 10kg rice on Social Workers’ Day last year. At the end of the year, they continuously performed good deeds such as donating 5 million KRW in scholarships for disabled youth.
Members of ‘Daehan Minjun’ said, “We donated this fund to expand our love and support for singer Song Minjun into love for our neighbors and to share positive influence.”
Kim Kyung-il, mayor of Paju City, said, “It is very meaningful that the support for the singer has led to sharing and helping neighbors in need in the local community,” and added, “We will continue to strive to improve the welfare of Paju citizens to repay the warm hearts of those who donated.”
Meanwhile, Song Minjun was appointed as Paju City’s promotional ambassador in August last year and is greatly loved by the public for his outstanding vocal skills and emotional tone.
