Pico 4 Ultra, Online and Offline Pre-Order Sales

PICO, an XR leading company equipped with proprietary innovative technology and research and development capabilities, officially launches the Mixed Reality headset ‘PICO 4 Ultra’ in the Korean market. The launch of PICO 4 Ultra signifies PICO’s further advancement in the Mixed Reality field, providing users with a richer and more personalized Mixed Reality experience.

PICO 4 Ultra offers a panoramic workspace feature that supports multitasking. Users can freely adjust the number, size, and position of virtual windows within a panoramic 360° space, and easily switch between immersive mode and see-through mode using the button on the system navigation bar.

PICO 4 Ultra boasts powerful performance with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon® XR2 Gen 2 platform and 12GB of large-capacity memory. Additionally, it is equipped with seven vision sensors: four environment-tracking cameras, two color pass-through cameras, and one iToF depth-sensing camera, delivering high-definition, low-distortion color see-through and a strong Mixed Reality experience.

Like previous models, PICO 4 Ultra features an ergonomically designed balanced design for comfortable wear. The new PICO 4 Ultra controller has been redesigned into a compact form by removing the ring. The controller’s weight and height have been reduced for a more comfortable grip, while the broadband linear motor remains, allowing users to still enjoy delicate haptic feedback.

PICO 4 Ultra is equipped with dual 4K+ pancake lenses supporting a high refresh rate display of 90Hz by default. It undergoes color calibration at the factory, and the rendering resolution is 1920*1920 per eye, approximately 62% improved compared to PICO 4. This is very close to the actual screen resolution, providing a clearer and more immersive display.

PICO’s first motion capture accessory, the lightweight and precise full-body tracker PICO Motion Tracker, is also officially launched. Users can capture full-body movements simply by wearing the PICO Motion Tracker on their ankle. Each device weighs 27g, making it lightweight, and offers up to 25 hours of continuous use after charging. The part contacting the leg is equipped with an ergonomic soft pad, providing comfortable wear even during high-intensity activities such as exercise or dance.

The PICO Motion Tracker boasts the industry’s simplest setup method with ‘auto-pairing’ and ‘one-look calibration.’ When the PICO Motion Tracker is turned on, it automatically pairs with the PICO headset, and subsequently reconnects automatically each time it is used. Through ‘one-look calibration,’ calibration is completed quickly just by the user standing and looking at the device.

In addition to comfortable wear and convenient usability, the PICO Motion Tracker offers excellent tracking capabilities. It adopts a fusion tracking method combining IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) and infrared sensors, providing a more precise and stable tracking experience with optical assistance.

The PICO Motion Tracker supports a total of 20 standalone contents including VRChat and Tempo Club, and can also be used in a richer SteamVR game ecosystem via PCVR. The PICO Motion Tracker is compatible not only with PICO 4 Ultra but also with the previously released PICO 4, allowing existing users to experience new full-body tracking.

It also supports spatial video recording and playback. In the new era of digital entertainment, spatial video is a new way for users to record their lives. PICO 4 Ultra supports spatial video recording and playback through an excellent combination of software and hardware.

PICO 4 Ultra uses two 32-megapixel HD RGB cameras to enable monocular spatial video recording at up to 2048*1536 resolution and 60fps frame rate. These two cameras adopt a bio-eye-shaped lens arrangement and maintain a certain distance between each other, mimicking human stereoscopic vision during spatial video recording, allowing users to enjoy deep 3D videos.

PICO 4 Ultra is compatible with spatial videos and photos shot with Apple devices such as the iPhone 15 Pro series and Apple Vision Pro. Spatial videos shot with Apple devices can be transferred to the PICO 4 Ultra’s photo app for direct viewing. In the future, PICO 4 Ultra will also support spatial audio recording for spatial videos, enabling users to reproduce vivid moments more realistically.

PICO 4 Ultra offers an expanded and open PICO content ecosystem. Currently, the PICO Store holds over 40 MR contents and more than 600 VR contents, including about 480 game contents which make up the largest portion, as well as various genres such as video entertainment and productivity.

PICO 4 Ultra allows users to enjoy not only PICO Store’s own game contents but also SteamVR game contents via PCVR. The PICO Store’s own game contents offer various genres ranging from puzzle games to SLG strategy games. Additionally, through PCVR, users can play SteamVR game contents on their PC with PICO 4 Ultra, enjoying ultra-high-definition game displays at 3K resolution supported by AV1 encoding.

PICO Connect has also been upgraded; when used with a Wi-Fi 7 wireless router, streaming latency on PICO 4 Ultra is reduced by up to 30%, and wireless PCVR connection transmission speeds increase up to 3.0Gbps. It supports smooth screen casting between Windows and Mac, allowing users to easily switch, share, and remotely control screens across various devices.

PICO 4 Ultra is launched at 799,000 KRW in Korea, and the PICO Motion Tracker at 119,000 KRW. Pre-orders start from 2 PM on September 9, with official sales beginning on September 20. On the hardware side, PICO offers products with various configurations, performance, and free interaction to meet customer needs in diverse scenarios.
