KOSDAQ Also Up 0.97%...Individual Buying Leads the Rise
The KOSPI index has recovered to the 2600 level. The atmosphere has somewhat eased from the 'fear market' staged the previous day.
As of 9:26 AM on the 5th, KOSPI is trading at 2610.78, up 1.16% (29.98 points) from the previous day. The KOSPI index opened at 2598.36, up 17.56 points from the previous trading day, and surpassed the 2600 level as additional buying momentum flowed in after the opening.
By investor type, individuals are leading the rise by buying 82.1 billion KRW alone. Foreigners and institutions continued to sell, with net sales of 64.5 billion KRW and 20.9 billion KRW respectively, continuing the 'selling' trend from the previous day.
By sector, electrical and electronics (1.78%), electric and gas utilities (1.64%), transportation and warehousing (1.59%), textiles and apparel (1.53%), services (1.54%), and manufacturing (1.26%) are outperforming the index's overall gain. The insurance sector is the only one declining, down 1.02%.
676 stocks are rising, 168 stocks are falling, and 68 stocks are unchanged. Among the top 10 stocks by market capitalization, LG Energy Solution is leading with a 3.63% increase, showing the largest gain. This is interpreted as influenced by Tesla's over 4% rise in the US stock market the previous day due to strong sales in China. Except for Samsung Biologics, which is flat, all others are rising. Samsung Electronics (1.00%), SK Hynix (2.97%), and Kia (1.50%), which had fallen together due to the 'NVIDIA shock' the previous day, are showing strong gains exceeding 1%.
The US stock market closed mixed the previous day. The atmosphere of 'fear of recession' staged the day before has somewhat subsided. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq indices continued to decline but with reduced losses, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed higher.
The KOSDAQ index is trading at 738.86, up 7.11 points (0.97%) from the previous day.
