The 17th Anseong World Soft Tennis Championships Enter the Heat of Competition

The "17th Anseong World Soft Tennis Championships," held in Anseong City, Gyeonggi Province, has entered six days of intense competition.

On the 3rd, Anseong City announced that it held the opening ceremony of the Anseong World Soft Tennis Championships at the Anseong Matchum Sports Complex, the venue of the tournament, and started matches in various categories from the 4th.

The opening ceremony was successfully held with the attendance of distinguished guests including Kim Bora, Mayor of Anseong City; Jeong In-seon, President of the International Soft Tennis Federation; Yoon Jong-gun, Member of the National Assembly; Ahn Jeong-yeol, Chairperson of the City Council; organizing committee members; heads of related organizations and associations; soft tennis officials; as well as over 360 athletes from 31 countries and more than 3,500 spectators.

In his welcoming speech, Mayor Kim said, "I sincerely welcome the delegations and officials from 31 countries who have visited Anseong City to participate in the tournament," adding, "Like the tournament’s slogan, 'enjoy together! play to better!', I hope this will be a time for all athletes to enjoy the games and share the true meaning of sports together."

Following the opening ceremony, matches will be held from the 4th to the 9th at the Anseong Matchum Soft Tennis Court across seven categories: men's doubles, women's doubles, men's singles, women's singles, mixed doubles, men's team, and women's team events.

Meanwhile, during the tournament period, various events will be held at Anseong Central Market and Anseong Matchum Market, organized by the market merchants' association. The markets will host a variety of events and programs including traditional cultural experiences, flea markets, beer festivals, concerts, and photo zones.

A city official stated, "We hope that these traditional market events will enhance the image of Anseong City among domestic and international visitors."
