The First Exclusive Premium Asset Management Sales Department at a Securities Firm
Top Setup from Space to Asset Management
Kim Sang-tae: "Create from the Space with a 'Customer-Centered' Approach"
Kim Sang-tae, President of Shinhan Investment Corp., is explaining the 'customer-centric' sales strategy to reporters on the afternoon of the 3rd at the new Yeouido headquarters (TP Tower).
"Let's make the 41st floor a space for the Sales Department, not the CEO's office. Place the CEO's office on a lower floor and move the Sales Department Center Director's seat to the 41st floor. Instead, let's allocate the spot with the best view as a customer space."
Shinhan Investment Corp. unveiled its asset management service, 'Shinhan Premier Sales Department,' after moving to its new headquarters (Yeouido Teachers' Pension Building) on the 3rd. It is the highest, largest, and best spot in the building. CEO Kim Sang-tae's office is located just below the Sales Department. This was a direct instruction from CEO Kim.
A Shinhan Investment Corp. official said, "With the recent increase in demand for asset management consulting, we had many considerations on how to arrange the Sales Department," adding, "CEO Kim Sang-tae instructed that, as part of a 'customer-centric' sales strategy, the CEO's office on the 41st floor be moved to a lower floor, and the Sales Department, customer consultation rooms, and staff meeting rooms be moved up to the 41st floor."
This is part of the 'customer-centric' strategy emphasized by Jin Ok-dong, Chairman of Shinhan Financial Group. At the '2024 Second Half Management Forum' last month, Chairman Jin stated, "Shinhan Financial's digital innovation begins with customer-centric thinking," and "Our performance must benefit customers and be just to society."
The flow and interior of the Sales Department were also carefully considered. The space with views of Yeouido Park, the Han River, and the National Assembly Building was made into a shared customer area. It is the first place visitors to Shinhan Investment Corp. encounter. This is not to showcase the 'penthouse view' (Han River scenery).
Visiting the Sales Department on the 41st floor changes one's perspective of the world. The high-rise buildings once looked up to from Yeouido land now lie below. The imposing National Assembly Building appears diminutive. The same applies to Shinhan Investment Corp.'s asset management. Through this space, it demonstrates that it provides differentiated asset management services from a perspective not previously seen.
The consultation space of the Shinhan Premier Sales Department features unified colors in lighting, flooring, and wall finishes. The office of Kang Jong-ho, Executive Director and Center Director of the Shinhan Investment Corp. Sales Department leading Shinhan Premier, is also in this space. Although he occupies a better spot than CEO Kim, his office is smaller than before to increase face-to-face opportunities with customers.
On one side of the Sales Department, various meeting rooms have been prepared. The names of the meeting rooms were chosen through an internal contest. The most notable room is called 'Value Up.' It refers to the 'Corporate Value-Up Program' strongly promoted by the Financial Services Commission from a long-term perspective.
The meeting room name "Value Up," selected through an internal contest at Shinhan Investment Corp., utilized the "Corporate Value Up Program" promoted by the Financial Services Commission.
It signifies not only the domestic stock market but also the Shinhan Premier Sales Department's intention to level up in the asset management market. Furthermore, it embodies the commitment to increase the value of assets for customers visiting Shinhan Investment Corp. The 'Value Up' meeting room is the largest and has the most windows.
It is especially significant as the Sales Department is the first branch office of a securities company. Asset management is trending toward collaboration between securities firms and banks to provide various services such as tax and business succession. Shinhan Investment Corp.'s Sales Department is also providing premium asset management services in line with this trend.
CEO Kim said, "I tell employees that moving into the TP Tower is a 'turning point,'" adding, "We will strive to make the move to TP Tower a milestone for Shinhan Investment Corp."
Meanwhile, TP Tower is a new capital market outpost established by Shinhan Financial Group in Yeouido, Seoul. Along with Shinhan Investment Corp., key group companies such as parts of Shinhan Bank, Shinhan Asset Management, and parts of Shinhan Capital have also moved in.
