Realmeter Poll
"Down 0.4%p to 29.6%"
President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating for his administration slightly declined, falling into the 20% range for the first time in two years. Amid controversies over conflicts between the ruling party and the government, the People Power Party's approval rating dropped, while the Democratic Party's rating surpassed it beyond the margin of error.
According to a public opinion poll released on the 2nd by Realmeter (commissioned by Energy Economy Newspaper, conducted from the 26th to 30th of last month targeting 2,513 nationwide voters aged 18 and over, using 97% mobile and 3% landline ARS automated response telephone method), President Yoon's approval rating fell by 0.4 percentage points from the previous week to 29.6%. Negative evaluations rose by 0.3 percentage points to 66.7%. Although the change in approval rating is slight, this marks the first time in two years that President Yoon's approval rating has dropped into the 20% range. This is the second-lowest level since his inauguration in regular tallies.
Notably, the approval rating dropped from early in the week (27th of last month, 30.4%) to later in the week (30th of last month, 28.3%). Despite President Yoon's national briefing on the 29th of last month, public response appears to have been underwhelming.
In the party approval rating survey (commissioned by Energy Economy Newspaper, conducted from the 29th to 30th of last month targeting 1,008 nationwide voters aged 18 and over, using 97% mobile and 3% landline ARS automated response telephone method), the Democratic Party's approval rating rose by 2.2 percentage points to 42.2%. The People Power Party's rating fell by 4.2 percentage points to 32.8%. The Innovation Party increased by 0.3 percentage points to 8.0%, and the Reform Party rose by 0.3 percentage points to 3.9%.
By region, public sentiment in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk (TK) area fluctuated significantly. For the Democratic Party, approval in TK rose by 12.8 percentage points (from 25.1% to 37.9%), while the People Power Party's approval dropped by 12.5 percentage points (from 56.1% to 43.6%).
