Trump Mocks Harris' First Interview as "Boring"

Donald Trump, former U.S. president and Republican presidential candidate, described Vice President Kamala Harris's first interview on the 29th (local time) as "BORING!!!". He had also disparaged the preview broadcast just before the interview's release, saying, "She doesn't look like a leader."

On the night the interview aired, Trump posted "BORING" on his Truth Social account immediately after Vice President Harris's CNN interview was released. This was an instant evaluation of his competitor Harris's first interview. In her first CNN interview as the Democratic presidential candidate, Harris stated that she would appoint Republican members to her cabinet if elected and that she would begin building an 'opportunity economy' for the middle class from day one of her administration.

Before the interview aired, Trump also launched attacks targeting Vice President Harris. At a town hall event in La Crosse, Wisconsin, just before the interview aired, he mocked, "We do it live, but she does it recorded." Regarding the preview broadcast, he said, "She was sitting behind a huge desk, and to me, she didn't look like a leader," adding, "She didn't look like she was negotiating with Xi Jinping or Kim Jong-un (like a president) as we did."

At the event, Trump said, "America's biggest problem is nuclear weapons," explaining, "There are five countries with a lot of nuclear weapons, including the U.S. and Russia. China is far behind, but if there isn't a smart president (in the U.S.), in 5 to 10 years, they will catch up (to the U.S.)."

At a rally in Porterville, Michigan, on the same day, Trump said, "We are pro-family," and announced that the government or insurance companies would be required to cover the costs of in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures for infertile couples. He said, "If you talk to them (the Democrats), they will say I hate it, but it's the opposite. I have supported IVF from the beginning." This statement is interpreted as targeting women and moderate voters in battleground states who could be influenced by such issues. Local media also reported that in an NBC interview held that day, he suggested he might vote against Florida's six-week abortion ban law in the November election.
