"Unstoppable 'ChatGPT' Craze" Weekly Active Users Surpass 200 Million

It has been revealed that more than 200 million people use ChatGPT every week. This figure has more than doubled compared to a year ago.

According to Axios on the 29th (local time), OpenAI confirmed that the weekly active users of ChatGPT have surpassed 200 million. This is twice the number of weekly active users (100 million) disclosed by Sam Altman, OpenAI CEO, at the first developer conference last November.

Launched in 2022, ChatGPT surpassed 100 million monthly users within two months without much promotion and has since been leading the global artificial intelligence (AI) craze. Axios reported, "Other major tech companies such as Google and Meta Platforms are releasing updates to generative AI to expand market share, making the competition very fierce," but added, "ChatGPT remains the leader in the generative AI chatbot field."

Along with this, OpenAI announced that 92% of Fortune 500 companies use its products. It also explained that since the release of GPT-4o Mini in July, the usage of its API (Application Programming Interface) has doubled.
