The chairman of a well-known spine specialty hospital in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman who served as an executive at an affiliated company of the hospital over several years.
On the 29th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that they had received a complaint the previous day against Mr. A, a man in his 70s and the chairman of the hospital, on charges including violation of the Sexual Violence Punishment Act.
The complainant, Ms. B, claimed that she was sexually assaulted twice by Mr. A in 2015, and from March 2016 until last May, she was repeatedly sexually assaulted through the use of coercion. It is reported that Mr. A exploited the fact that Ms. B could not refuse his orders due to their employment relationship to demand sexual relations.
A police official stated, "We have currently received the complaint against Mr. A and are conducting an investigation."
