49% of Gen Z Workers in 5 Countries Dissatisfied with Current Jobs
Eight out of ten workers in their 20s are considering side jobs, according to a recent survey. This is attributed to dissatisfaction with their current jobs.
According to a report recently released by Samsung Electronics, 49% of full-time Gen Z employees in five countries?Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany?said their current jobs do not meet their expectations.
In particular, 64% of workers in Korea expressed dissatisfaction, the highest rate among the surveyed countries. This was followed by the U.S. and the U.K. (51%), Germany (46%), and France (35%). The main reasons for dissatisfaction included rigid work environments (60%), job insecurity (58%), and a lack of opportunities for creative work (55%).
Due to this dissatisfaction, 73% of Gen Z workers responded that they are considering side jobs. In Korea, 79% are considering side jobs, ranking second highest after the U.S. (81%).
However, many face time constraints when attempting to take on side jobs. Among workers considering side jobs, 58% reported a lack of time, and 55% of those currently juggling side jobs also cited time shortages.
