Hamyang County Submits 2nd Supplementary Budget Proposal of 698.7 Billion Won to Council

4.21% Increase, Urban Competitiveness Enhanced
All Efforts Focused on Stabilizing Residents' Lives

Hamyang County, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 26th that it has submitted the second supplementary budget for 2024 to the county council, totaling 698.7 billion KRW, an increase of 28.2 billion KRW compared to the first supplementary budget.

According to the county, this supplementary budget focuses on disaster prevention to stabilize residents' livelihoods, as well as on key projects and campaign pledges of the 8th popularly elected administration aimed at strengthening urban competitiveness.


By sector, the increases in expenditure are as follows: 7.6 billion KRW for land and regional development, 4.1 billion KRW for agriculture, forestry, maritime, and fisheries, 3.9 billion KRW for public order and safety, and 2.2 billion KRW for culture and tourism.


Major projects include: 4 billion KRW for the construction of the Nui Center, 1.5 billion KRW for the Hamyang Student Complex Library public parking lot project, 1 billion KRW for the small cinema construction project, 3.5 billion KRW for the Hwajeon District disaster prevention and residential environment improvement project, 1 billion KRW for site development for investment attraction in the Singwan District, 1 billion KRW for the Small School (Seosang Elementary) Revitalization Project, 900 million KRW for the Jigol-myeon local waterworks leakage reduction project, and 700 million KRW for the stable vegetable production support project.


A county official stated, "Despite limited financial resources, we prioritized the budget for projects that will enhance urban competitiveness and create a safer urban environment," adding, "Once the budget is finalized, we will promptly push forward with these projects to make Hamyang a better place to live."


Meanwhile, the proposed supplementary budget will be finalized after deliberation at the 287th temporary session of the Hamyang County Council, which will be held from September 2 to 12.
