Incheon City announced on the 23rd that it has selected a total of 13 alley commercial district communities, including Seochang Byeolbit Merchants Association, for this year's Alley Commercial District Community Revitalization Support Project.
The Alley Commercial District Community Revitalization Support Project aims to discover unique local commercial districts and revitalize depressed alley commercial areas. Support is provided in two areas tailored to the characteristics of each district: joint marketing for commercial district revitalization and commercial environment improvement projects.
The selected communities include Seochang Byeolbit Merchants Association (Namdong-gu), Ara Merchants Association (Seo-gu), Haneul Dalbit Merchants Association (Jung-gu), Guwol Suhyup Intersection Merchants Association (Namdong-gu), Samsan Rodeo Street Merchants Association (Bupyeong-gu), The Terrace Merchants Association (Yeonsu-gu), Ain Avenue Merchants Association (Michuhol-gu), and Gu-eup Baetteo Specialized Street Merchants Association (Jung-gu), among others, totaling 13 locations.
These communities will conduct joint marketing through busking performances, children's drawing contests, and online promotions using SNS until the end of October. They will also promote commercial environment improvements such as creating a nature-friendly street to walk with coffee and installing digital commercial district information stands.
An official from Incheon City stated, "We hope this project will serve as an opportunity to breathe new life into the depressed alley commercial districts," adding, "We will continue to actively discover differentiated excellent cases to maximize results and provide systematic support so that the effects of the project can spread to other commercial districts."
