Cheonan City announced on the 19th that, in collaboration with Baekseok Culture University and the Cheonan branch of the Korea Bakery Association, it will hold the '1st Cheonan City Bread Bread Bakery Competition' on the 28th of next month.
The competition aims to develop and promote bakery products made with Cheonan's specialties such as pears, Geobong grapes, and walnuts, in order to vitalize the 'City of Bread, Cheonan' brand and boost the consumption of local specialty products.
Participants will be divided into the general and student categories, with the student category open to both high school and university students. Applications can be submitted by mail, email, or in person until the 30th, and 40 teams will be selected through a document screening process.
The final competition will involve real-time management and product evaluation, and the winning teams in both the general and student categories will each receive a prize of 1 million won. The winning entries will be exhibited at the '2024 Bread Bread Day Cheonan Festival.'
Mayor Park Sangdon said, "We expect this to be a great opportunity to realize the value of 'City of Bread, Cheonan' through the development of bread products using local specialties in collaboration with local universities, fostering solidarity and mutual growth in the region."
Meanwhile, Cheonan City plans to hold the '2024 Bread Bread Day Cheonan' festival for two days from October 12 to 13 at the Cheonan Sports Complex.
