North Korea: "The US and Its Followers Behind Russia's Kursk Attack... Will Receive Just Retribution"

On the 18th, North Korea accused the United States and its followers as being behind the Ukrainian military's attack on Kursk in southwestern Russia, calling it an act of terrorism.

In a statement released to the Korean Central News Agency on the same day, a spokesperson for the North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned, "(Ukraine) carried out an armed attack on Russian territory under the manipulation and support of the United States and the West," calling it an "unforgivable act of aggression."

The spokesperson pointed out that various heavy equipment made by the United States and the West were found on the Kursk battlefield, insisting, "The responsibility for this incident, which could plunge the entire European territory into a new full-scale war, lies entirely with the United States and its followers."

He added, "By supplying astronomical amounts of lethal equipment and waging an anti-Russian proxy war, they are pushing the global security environment toward the threshold of World War III," and warned, "The provocateurs will receive due retaliation."

On July 8th (local time), Russia launched a missile attack on the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv, Ukraine, causing smoke to rise.

North Korea supplied weapons to Russia last year and has continued its honeymoon relationship by upgrading bilateral ties, including signing a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty with Russia in June.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson stated, "Today's fierce battle in Kursk will be the prelude to the complete destruction of the Zelensky puppet regime and the strategic defeat of the United States and the West," affirming that North Korea will always strongly support and back Russia.
