Visiting Geumsan County in the Third Year of the 8th Elected Term
Governor Kim Tae-heum stated on the 16th, "We will steadily promote the construction of an eco-friendly pumped-storage power plant for the development of Geumsan-gun."
Governor Kim visited Geumsan-gun on this day as the seventh stop of his third-year tour of cities and counties under the eighth popularly elected administration.
In Geumsan-gun, a 500MW pumped-storage power plant is being constructed on a 516,000 square meter (approximately 460,000 pyeong) site in Banguri, Burimyeon. The total project cost is 1.5469 trillion won, and the plant is scheduled to be completed by 2037.
Additionally, a special village for atopy treatment will be established in the Sanggok-ri, Gunbuk-myeon area, known as the Mountain Flower Village. This village will include 60 single-family houses, a complex health community center, and a care and healing farm.
Governor Kim said, "The construction of an eco-friendly pumped-storage power plant will contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral economy and generate economic effects, thereby promoting regional development," adding, "We will do our best to ensure the prompt passage of the preliminary feasibility study and the early construction of the power plant."
