People Power Party lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo responded to a poll result showing that he was trailing former Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyung-soo in the preference for the next presidential candidate by saying, "There are still about three years left. We need to wait and see."

On the 16th, Ahn appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and commented on the poll in which former Governor Kim ranked 6th with 5.4%, and Ahn ranked 8th with 3.3%, saying, "Not many people are currently thinking about the actions Kim Kyung-soo took. These things are gradually coming to light, and as he shows his future moves, the public will properly evaluate them."

Regarding the reason for opposing Kim's reinstatement, he stated, "The Druking incident was an unprecedented act of destroying democracy in the history of world democracy." He added, "This was fundamentally different from a minor political crime; it was an incomparable act of destroying democracy." He further explained, "As stated in the Supreme Court ruling, the investigation was delayed by about a month, and although Kim's side tried hard to erase evidence during that time, 85 million records remained, which is twice the number of voters in our country."

On People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon's opposition to Kim's reinstatement, Ahn said, "Pardon is the president's authority, but the party can express its opinion, can't it? The final decision is made by the president, but properly conveying the opinions of the party or its members is a healthy party-government relationship, so Leader Han did well."

Regarding the evaluation of former Governor Kim as a rival to former party leader Lee Jae-myung, Ahn drew a line, saying, "It is difficult in the current state." He added, "Depending on how Lee Jae-myung's trial goes, things might change, but for now, it is hard to beat Lee Jae-myung."

According to a poll conducted by Dailyan through the polling agency Polling Integrity Co., Ltd. on the 12th and 13th, surveying 1,006 people using a 100% wireless ARS method (response rate 2.1%), the 'next presidential candidate favorability' ranking was former Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung (28.5%), People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon (19.8%), Innovation Party leader Cho Guk (8.7%), Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon (7.4%), former Governor Kim Kyung-soo (5.4%), Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon (4.9%), and lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo (3.3%). The margin of error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
