The International Conference of the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations is the largest annual international academic conference in the field of digital humanities, with about 1,000 participants from over 20 countries worldwide. The conference, to be held in Daejeon from July 26 to August 1, 2026, will be hosted in Korea for the first time.
The Korea Tourism Organization actively engaged in attracting the event by delivering letters of support to key decision-makers of international conferences and cooperating with the Daejeon Tourism Organization and the Korean Digital Humanities Association to support on-site overseas attraction activities.
Jung Chang-wook, head of the MICE division at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "We are actively cooperating throughout the entire attraction process, including identifying target events, forming attraction committees, and preparing proposals, together with government agencies, regional tourism organizations, and MICE dedicated organizations to attract international conferences to Korea."
This year, the Korea Tourism Organization has attracted a total of 14 international conferences, including major events such as the 18th World Congress on Computational Mechanics (Busan) in 2028, the World Magnetics Conference (Jeju) in 2027, and the 49th International Conference on Coordination Chemistry (Jeju), bringing in about 8,000 foreign participants.
