Goseong County, Gyeongnam held a preparatory briefing for the Ulji Exercise in the county office's main conference room, attended by County Governor Lee Sanggun, senior officials, and representatives from related organizations including military units.
The preparatory briefing, held on the 12th, was organized to ensure the successful execution of the Ulji Exercise and establish a thorough emergency preparedness posture. The meeting served as a final check on the exercise overview, key training items by sector, and cooperation matters between departments and related organizations.
The county plans to actively respond to rapidly changing security threats by conducting unannounced emergency assembly drills for public officials, wartime transition procedure training, tabletop exercises, discussions on wartime urgent issues, actual counter-terrorism drills at critical national facilities (Samcheonpo Power Plant Headquarters), and civil defense evacuation drills.
This year marks the 56th Ulji Exercise, which will be held over four days from the 19th to the 22nd, with approximately 500 participants from seven organizations expected to take part.
Governor Lee stated, "Through the Ulji Exercise, we will assess Goseong County's security posture, address any shortcomings, and continue to strengthen our efforts to ensure the safety of the local community."
Meanwhile, Goseong County is actively engaging in various promotional activities, including security awareness campaigns for residents, to highlight the importance of the Ulji Exercise.
