Geumcheon-gu Holds 'Napulnapul Cooperative Forum' to Share and Solve Local Issues Together

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that on the 13th at 4 PM, it will hold a resident-participatory public-private joint forum called the ‘Napulnapul Cooperation Forum’ in the large auditorium on the 12th floor of the district office, with about 100 participants including local residents, cooperation council members, and related organizations.

The ‘Napulnapul Cooperation Forum’ signifies sharing and discussing the agendas discovered by the ‘Geumcheon-gu Cooperation Council’ with residents. It was prepared to gather diverse opinions by bringing together residents and related organizations (departments) to address issues that need to be resolved within the community.

The cooperation council is composed of three subcommittees: ‘Future Growth,’ ‘Communication and Happiness,’ and ‘Village Resources.’ Since April this year, through subcommittee meetings and small forums, agenda plans were established after deliberations with related departments, organizations, and beneficiaries.

As a result of the deliberations, the Future Growth subcommittee identified agendas such as the ‘Barefoot Walking Program’ and ‘Visiting Senior Healing Play.’ The Communication and Happiness subcommittee proposed a silent film screening (‘Silent Cinema’) enjoyed at Geumcheon Hanne (Anyangcheon) and the production of an integrated map and guideboard for Anyangcheon.

The Village Resources subcommittee presented agendas including behavior correction and agility training at the dog playground, as well as educational activities for elementary students to interact with companion dogs.

Each subcommittee will present the agendas discovered at the cooperation forum, collect opinions through discussions on each agenda, and derive supplementary measures. Afterwards, there will be a time to present and share the agendas by subcommittee.

Cooperation council members plan to deliberate on the agenda projects based on the forum results at regular meetings and select projects to be implemented, which will be submitted as 2025 resident-participatory budget (resident cooperation type) projects.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “The process of discussing local issues and seeking solutions together with Geumcheon-gu residents in a public forum is itself a valuable process,” adding, “I hope the cooperation forum will serve as an opportunity for public and private sectors to decide policies based on a horizontal cooperative relationship.”
