First Rapid-Fire Pistol Medal Contender Among South Korean Shooting Athletes
Jo Young-jae (25, Republic of Korea Armed Forces Athletic Corps) delivered the sixth medal for Korean shooting at the Paris Olympics. Jo Young-jae is the first Korean shooting athlete to win a medal in the rapid fire pistol event.

On the 5th (local time), Jo Young-jae won the silver medal with a score of 25 in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol final at the 2024 Paris Olympics held at the Ch?teauroux Shooting Center in France. With this, Korean shooting has won a total of six medals at this competition, including three gold and three silver medals, surpassing the 2012 London Olympics (three gold and two silver medals). This is the best performance in the history of the Olympics.
Korean shooting gold medalists include Oh Ye-jin (19, IBK Industrial Bank) in women's air pistol, Ban Hyo-jin (16, Daegu Physical Education High School) in women's air rifle, and Yang Ji-in (21, Korea National Sport University) in women's 25m pistol. Additionally, Park Ha-jun (24, KT) and Geum Ji-hyun (24, Gyeonggi Provincial Office) won silver in the mixed air rifle event, and Kim Ye-ji (31, Imsil County Office) took silver in the air pistol event.
