Grandmoment Youth Hostel to Create 'Forest Nature Learning Center' for Youth

Appointment Ceremony for Advisory Committee Held, Full-Scale Project Launch

Promoting MICE, Establishing Foundation for Youth Programs

A 'Forest Nature Learning Center' will be established near Hwangnyeongsan in Nam-gu, Busan.

The Forest Nature Learning Center is a space where local children and youth can experience and connect with nature in the city through a variety of operational programs.

Grand Moment Youth Hostel announced on the 25th that it will invest over 1 billion KRW to create experiential facilities and spaces for youth camping and stargazing within its forest site.

As a first step, on the 24th, Grand Moment Youth Hostel held an appointment ceremony for its Youth Project Advisory Committee and had time to listen to expert opinions and communicate for the establishment of the learning center.

The appointed committee members are six youth project experts: Park Yongha (President of the Busan Youth Facility Association), Heo Ilsu (Secretary-General of the Busan Youth Facility Association), Yang Wangchang (Manager at Busan Urban Corporation Arpina), Park Sooyoung (Professor at Dongmyung University), Kim Daesu (Officer at Geumryeonsan Youth Training Center), and Cho Oegeon (Officer at the Lifelong Education Division of Nam-gu Office, Busan Metropolitan City).

These experts were appointed to effectively operate the nation's largest youth hostel. They also support Grand Moment Youth Hostel in responding to the rapidly changing youth industry environment. Concrete implementation plans for the Forest Nature Learning Center project will be a key agenda item for the advisory committee.

Grand Moment plans to additionally allocate the initial project budget of 1 billion KRW according to the advisory committee's opinions. The budget will be covered by profits generated from the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) business sector. In the Busan area, youth-related projects are facing many difficulties due to the decline in the school-age population.

Grand Moment Youth Hostel is pursuing businesses such as weddings and facility rentals to overcome the financial challenges of youth projects. Through these MICE businesses, they are striving to support youth projects and contribute to the local community.

Kim Dohwan, CEO of Grand Moment, emphasized, "Investment for the development and contribution to the local community is something that someone must do," and expressed his commitment, "By promoting the MICE business, we will establish the foundation for the youth hostel's core youth projects and fulfill our social responsibilities with the sincere efforts of all employees."
