SOOP Prepares Live Streaming Ecosystem... Providing Content Through an Open Platform

SOOP, the operator of the live streaming platform AfreecaTV, announced on the 25th that it is preparing a new live streaming ecosystem by building an open environment.

Since the first half of this year, SOOP has been strengthening a "culture enjoyed by everyone together" regardless of activity fields or platforms. A unique culture where streamers from various fields broadcast together or form crews is spreading.

This is analyzed to be effective, as SOOP has been working on securing content, streamer support policies, and the live streaming ecosystem it has built so far.

In particular, SOOP is actively securing broadcasting rights for various tournaments including eSports, providing streamers with content and users with a foundation to offer more diverse broadcasts. Recently, it secured the Korean broadcast rights for the "eSports World Cup" held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It exclusively presented Korean broadcasts of popular games such as League of Legends (LoL), Battlegrounds, TFT, and Overwatch 2.

In addition, SOOP has secured broadcasting rights for various sports, allowing streamers to freely stream and commentate on sports games. SOOP holds broadcasting rights not only for popular sports like soccer, basketball, and volleyball but also for various sports that are difficult to watch on other domestic platforms, such as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), billiards, and martial arts.

Furthermore, SOOP is dedicated to producing content that various streamers can participate in and building an environment where anyone can easily interact.

A representative example of original content open to everyone is the newly launched brand "Assemble" on the 12th. It is an original game and eSports brand where not only streamers active on SOOP but also various other streamers can participate in content without restrictions.

SOOP plans to prepare various support measures for streamers and users to participate. It will also continue to introduce events and promotions for new users.
