Hanmi Semiconductor announced on the 23rd that it has purchased land to establish a factory with a total floor area of 10,000 pyeong in the Juan National Industrial Complex, Seo-gu, Incheon Metropolitan City, to expand its production capacity.
Hanmi Semiconductor acquired the site near its existing 3rd factory, the Bonder Factory, with an investment of approximately 30 billion KRW. Construction of the factory is scheduled to begin early next year and be completed by the end of 2025.
Hanmi Semiconductor currently produces TC Bonders based on 210 core component processing production facilities across six factories with a total floor area of 22,000 pyeong at its Incheon headquarters.
This year, it can produce 264 TC Bonders annually (22 units per month). With the addition of core component processing production facilities worth 20 billion KRW next year, it will secure the world's largest TC Bonder production capacity, capable of producing 420 units annually (35 units per month).
With the new factory planned on the newly acquired site, the company expects a greater possibility of achieving its 2026 sales target of 2 trillion KRW.
Hanmi Semiconductor Vice Chairman Kwak Dong-shin said, "Due to the rapid growth of the artificial intelligence semiconductor market, demand for HBM is increasing quickly," adding, "We will expand production capacity to achieve the 2 trillion KRW sales target in 2026 along with the launch of the next-generation TC Bonder to realize customer satisfaction."
Since establishing its Intellectual Property Department in 2002, Hanmi Semiconductor has focused on protecting and strengthening intellectual property rights through a team of about 10 specialists, filing over 120 patents related to HBM equipment, including a total of 111 patents to date. The company analyzed that its outstanding technology and durability will secure a competitive edge and further enhance equipment competitiveness.
