The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters has produced a set of three safety management promotional contents?including audio recordings, posters, and short-form videos?containing fire safety rules such as fire prevention and emergency evacuation for migrant workers, following the battery factory fire in Hwaseong.
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters first created audio recordings in 12 languages, including Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Cambodian, covering fire safety rules and evacuation procedures during a fire.
The audio recordings are about one minute long, designed so that listeners can naturally learn fire safety rules and evacuation actions by listening regularly. Multicultural volunteer firefighters and interpreters from the Ansan Foreigners Counseling Support Center participated in recording the audio to enhance its quality.
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters also produced 13,000 posters in 13 languages, including English, featuring fire evacuation instructions. The poster is titled "What if there is a fire in our factory?" and includes messages to shout "Fire!" immediately evacuate, and quickly report the incident.
Additionally, to make fire evacuation instructions easier to understand, short-form videos were produced in 12 languages.
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters plans to distribute the produced audio recordings, posters, and short-form videos to 217 battery-related facilities and 105 hazardous material workplaces where migrant workers are employed within the province.
Jo Sun-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, emphasized, "We hope that the set of three safety management promotional contents produced this time will serve as a small but vital contribution to protecting the precious lives of migrant workers from fire." He added, "Under the fundamental spirit that safety transcends borders and races, we will continue to promote more effective fire safety measures for migrant workers."
