Girl Group (G)I-DLE's Miyeon Showcases the Charm of Shenyang
Chungcheong region's leading liquor company, Sunyang Soju Co., Ltd., announced that it won the top prize in the food and beverage category at the '2024 Broadcast Advertising Festival' awards ceremony held at Crest72 in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 18th.
The award-winning advertisement, "Fell for Sunyang," is a TV commercial for "Sunyang," a zero-sugar soju with the lowest alcohol content (14.9) and lowest calories (298kcal) in Korea, launched in March last year. The commercial drew attention by featuring Miyeon of the girl group (G)I-DLE.
The ad was praised for its hypnotic visual elements and dreamy tone and mood, which had not been attempted in previous green soju commercials, capturing the charm of Sunyang through the clean and refreshing image of Miyeon.
Additionally, the double meaning of the phrase "Fell for" was cleverly used in the narration "The soju that took everything out, fell for Sunyang" to express how people are captivated by Sunyang, which has removed not only sugar but also alcohol content and calories as a zero-sugar soju.
Launched last year to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Sunyang Soju Co., Ltd., "Sunyang" is characterized by its clean taste without any aftertaste, maintaining the original flavor of soju by adding distilled rice and barley base, despite significantly lowering its calories. "Sunyang" can be found at GS25 and CU convenience stores nationwide, as well as major discount retailers.
Cho Hyunjun, Executive Director of Sunyang Soju Co., Ltd., said, "We worked hard to capture the various charms unique to Sunyang Soju in the advertisement," adding, "I hope people will pay attention not only to the advertisement but also to the taste and quality of Sunyang Soju."
