Chairman Park Chang-gu: "Low-carbon products and workplaces recognized globally"
Kumho Petrochemical announced on the 19th that it has obtained the international eco-friendly certification ISCC PLUS for a total of 12 products, including 6 synthetic rubber products, 4 synthetic resin products, and 2 fine chemical products.
ISCC PLUS is an international certification that verifies the sustainability and low-carbon nature of products throughout the entire process from raw material procurement to production and sales, based on the European Union's Renewable Energy Directive (RED). More than 140 raw material manufacturers, research institutions, and NGOs worldwide have joined as members. It is recognized as a credible eco-friendly certification due to its transparent and rigorous evaluation criteria and verification procedures.
The synthetic rubber product group certified this time includes six types: SBR used for tire and footwear materials; NBR used for fuel hoses and gaskets; NB latex, SB latex, HSR, and SBS used for medical and cooking rubber gloves and paper coating.

The synthetic resin product group consists of four types: ABS, GPPS, HIPS, and SAN, which are used as materials for automobiles and home appliances. The fine chemical product group includes two types, K-13 and K-5010L, which are used as antioxidants for rubber products such as tires.
This certification is the result of Kumho Petrochemical’s cooperation to switch from the existing raw material supply chain to bio-naphtha using eco-friendly raw materials after signing an MOU with SK Geocentric and Dongseo Petrochemical to establish a "sustainable bio raw material supply chain."
