As the economic recession intensifies the difficulties faced by small business owners, Shinhan Bank's delivery app 'Ttaenggyeoyo,' which offers low brokerage fees benefiting local merchants, is gaining increasing popularity.

Accordingly, districts such as Jongno-gu, Gwangjin-gu, Gangbuk-gu, and Jungnang-gu in Seoul have successively signed business agreements to operate Ttaenggyeoyo with its affordable fees.

Jongno-gu Signs Business Agreement with Shinhan Bank for 'Jongno-style Public Delivery App Ttaenggyeoyo' on the 17th

Jongno-gu (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) is joining the operation of the public delivery application 'Ttaenggyeoyo' to support small business owners struggling due to high brokerage fees of private delivery apps and reduced consumption caused by rising dining prices.

On July 17, the district signed a business agreement with Shinhan Bank for the 'Jongno-style Public Delivery App Ttaenggyeoyo,' pledging cooperation to support small business owners and revitalize the local economy.

Aiming to be a "neighborhood delivery app where both you and I thrive," Ttaenggyeoyo supports mutual growth among customers, franchisees, and riders through low brokerage fees, fast settlements, and reward points accumulation on usage.

Under this agreement, Jongno-gu will issue 'Jongno Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificates' (delivery app-exclusive local love gift certificates) from August to December for five months to secure franchisees and consumers for the Jongno-style public delivery app. The gift certificates can be purchased at a 15% discount on the 1st of each month (or the next business day if the 1st falls on a Saturday or holiday) via SeoulPay+.

Additionally, Shinhan Bank plans to offer various benefits such as a 2% delivery brokerage fee for local small business owners, 'Owner Support Funds' that allow franchisees to issue their own coupons, and the discovery of customized specialized services for Jongno-gu.

District Mayor Jeong Munheon stated, "We signed this business agreement with Shinhan Bank to alleviate the burden on consumers and self-employed individuals caused by increased delivery app brokerage fees," adding, "We will devise effective policies to help small business owners facing financial difficulties and overcome the livelihood economy crisis."

Gwangjin-gu Issues Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificates with 15% Discount... Monthly Scale of 500 Million KRW

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Gyeongho) is expanding the issuance of 'Gwangjin Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificates' to support small business owners and revitalize neighborhood commercial districts.

Since 2022, the district has collaborated with Shinhan Bank to introduce the public delivery app 'Gwangjin Ttaenggyeoyo.' It has received great response from both small business owners and consumers by offering various benefits such as no entry or advertising fees, low brokerage fees, support funds for new franchisees, and a 15% discount on exclusive gift certificates (Gwangjin Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificates). As of June this year, the number of franchisees reached 24,000, and the number of subscribers exceeded 58,000.

In response, Gwangjin-gu is accelerating the activation of Gwangjin Ttaenggyeoyo. From July, the issuance scale of 'Gwangjin Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificates' usable on the Ttaenggyeoyo app has been increased from 300 million KRW to 500 million KRW. This will enable more residents to purchase gift certificates, reducing household burdens while using Gwangjin Ttaenggyeoyo.

The gift certificates can be purchased at a 15% discount through the Seoul Pay Plus mobile app on the 1st of each month. Purchases can be made up to 200,000 KRW per month, with a validity period of one year from the purchase date. Individuals can hold up to 1 million KRW.

District Mayor Kim Gyeongho said, "We increased the issuance scale of gift certificates from July to enable more residents to use Gwangjin Ttaenggyeoyo," adding, "In this era of high prices, we hope many residents will show interest in and use Gwangjin Ttaenggyeoyo, where both small business owners and consumers can coexist."

Gwangjin-gu is also making various efforts to revitalize neighborhood commercial districts, such as recruiting franchisees from traditional markets and establishing a traditional market category in the Ttaenggyeoyo app.

‘Seocho Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificates’ Issued at 500 Million KRW with 15% Discount

Seocho-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeon Seongsu) began issuing 25 billion KRW worth of 'Seocho Love Gift Certificates' usable within the district at a 5% discount starting from 9 a.m. on the 3rd of last month.

The Seocho Love Gift Certificates can be purchased at a 5% discount off the face value up to 500,000 KRW per person. They can be bought and used through the newly launched 'SeoulPay+' app as of April, and users can check participating local merchants via the 'Find Franchise' feature within the app.

The usage period is five years from the purchase date. Unused gift certificates can be fully refunded upon application, and if more than 60% of the face value has been used, the remaining balance minus the discount support fund will be refunded.

From this year, purchases and usage are conducted through the newly launched SeoulPay+ app. The previous apps 'Shinhan Sol Bank,' 'T-money Pay,' 'Money Tree,' and 'Shinhan Sol Pay' are no longer supported, so caution is required. For smooth purchases, it is recommended to download and install the SeoulPay+ app in advance and register accounts or cards for bank transfers or card payments.

The Seocho Love Gift Certificates represent the largest scale among autonomous districts issuing certificates this month. The district issued 4 billion KRW worth of gift certificates during the Lunar New Year holiday, which sold out within two minutes, reflecting strong consumer response, leading to this scale expansion.

Alongside this, the district also issued 500 million KRW worth of Seocho Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificates starting at 10 a.m. on June 3. The Seocho Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificates are exclusive to the delivery app 'Ttaenggyeoyo,' which promotes public delivery apps with low brokerage fees for small business owners. The district enhanced consumer benefits by raising the purchase discount rate to 15%. The certificates are issued monthly, and consumers can purchase up to 200,000 KRW per person via the SeoulPay+ app to use for food delivery or takeout orders at Ttaenggyeoyo franchise stores.

District Mayor Jeon Seongsu said, "In a situation where consumption is shrinking due to high prices, we hope that discounted local gift certificates will help reduce residents' grocery expenses and lead to increased sales for small business owners."

Gangbuk-gu and Shinhan Bank Sign Business Agreement for Public Delivery App 'Ttaenggyeoyo'

Gangbuk-gu (District Mayor Lee Sunhee) is promoting the operation of a public delivery app through public-private cooperation to support small business owners struggling with high brokerage fees from private delivery apps.

On the 20th, Gangbuk-gu held a business agreement ceremony with Shinhan Bank for the public delivery app.

Under this agreement, Shinhan Bank will provide a low brokerage fee service of 2% on the existing delivery app 'Ttaenggyeoyo,' and Gangbuk-gu will support payments via local love gift certificates.

The promotion of the Gangbuk-gu public delivery app (Ttaenggyeoyo) is planned to be implemented from 2025 after consultations with related institutions and securing budgets for issuing delivery app-exclusive gift certificates. Both institutions agreed to actively cooperate to reduce the burden on small business owners and strengthen their competitiveness by developing digital sales channels.

During the continuous growth of the online food ordering (delivery) industry, the brokerage fees charged by private delivery companies have increased from 6.8% to 12.5%, intensifying the burden on small business owners.

By activating the public-private cooperative public delivery app through this agreement, delivery app companies will apply low brokerage fees to franchisees to realize public interest, and Gangbuk-gu expects to contribute to enhancing consumer benefits by issuing local love gift certificates.

For more details about the Gangbuk-gu public delivery app, inquiries can be made to the Small Business Support Team of the Regional Economy Division at Gangbuk-gu Office.

District Mayor Lee Sunhee said, "Many small business owners have struggled due to high delivery fees," adding, "This business agreement with Shinhan Bank for the public delivery app will reduce the management burden on small business owners and contribute to revitalizing the local economy."
