Kim Tae-jin, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council, proposed the "Urgent Construction of the Yudeok-dong Beodeulmaeul Multipurpose Center."
On the 16th, during the 1st plenary session of the 324th extraordinary meeting, Councilor Kim requested the prompt commencement of the delayed Yudeok-dong Beodeulmaeul Multipurpose Center project through a 5-minute free speech.
The approximate total project cost for the Yudeok-dong Multipurpose Center was originally 748.2 million KRW, but due to delays in BF certification, there is a shortage of about 2 billion KRW caused by increased construction, labor, and supervision costs.
Although the preliminary BF certification was applied for in December last year, it is expected to be received around the end of July this year due to requests for supplementation, resulting in an estimated cost of 6.58 billion KRW, which exceeds 50% of the existing budget.
Furthermore, since the cost has exceeded the original budget by 30%, a re-examination of the local financial investment review is required, creating a serious issue. Although completion was scheduled for December this year, due to various problems, construction is now planned to begin in January 2025.
In response, Councilor Kim urged the Seo-gu Office to ensure close cooperation among related departments such as the Health Living Support Center and the Architecture Division, emphasizing that the Seo-gu Office must thoroughly prepare in advance for issues related to BF certification.
Finally, Councilor Kim stated, "The construction of the Yudeok-dong Multipurpose Center has been delayed far too long," and added, "I will continue to closely monitor to ensure that the construction proceeds properly."
