Appointment of Former Media Team Leaders as PR Chiefs: Shin Namjae, Head of PR Media Department in Mapo-gu; Kim Byungseop, PR Officer in Dongjak-gu; Park Mihui, PR Officer in Dongdaemun-gu

Seoul District PR Man Returns

Promoters have returned to Seoul's autonomous districts.

In the second half personnel changes of Seoul's autonomous districts, former PR experts such as former press team leaders have returned as heads of public relations departments.

In particular, the public relations field is somewhat unique in the public service, and employees who have previously worked in PR have returned to their original positions.

In Mapo-gu, Shin Nam-jae, head of the Disaster Safety Division, was appointed as head of the Public Relations Media Division in this personnel change. Shin, a PR expert who previously served as press team leader, has returned to his home base and will work closely with press team leader Lee Ki-yeon and others to promote the passionate district administration activities of Mayor Park Kang-su.

In Dongjak-gu, Kim Byung-seop, head of public relations, is serving as head of Sindaebang 1-dong, having swapped roles with Shin Su-gyeong, head of public relations. Kim served as press officer from 2001 to 2006, communicating with Seoul city reporters and earning recognition for his diligence. Notably, at that time, Kim personally delivered press releases to the Seoul city press department and placed them in media booths, demonstrating his dedication.

Seo Hee-sook, head of public relations in Jongno-gu, is known to have volunteered to become head of public relations after serving as head of the Cultural Heritage Support Division. Seo, who took over the position after former head Choi Sang-jong moved to welfare policy division, previously worked as press officer during her tenure at Jung-gu office and has shown determination to support Mayor Jeong Moon-heon's district administration since moving to Jongno-gu.

Park Mi-hee, head of public relations in Dongdaemun-gu, took on the role of press team leader in the 8th elected term. After being promoted to grade 5 and serving as deputy head of the Companion Division, she has returned as the head of public relations in this personnel change.

Dongdaemun-gu appointed Jeong Jae-ho, a former central daily newspaper reporter, as the open recruitment press team leader for a two-year term, starting work from the 15th.

In Guro-gu, Park Young-joo, head of the Traffic Administration Division and former Seoul city press department staff who moved to Guro-gu in January this year, was appointed as successor to Kim Jeong-min, head of public relations.

As such, Seoul's autonomous districts have recalled public officials with past experience in the somewhat unique field of public relations, which is unusual for general public officials.

This is interpreted as because public officials without experience in PR work require considerable time to adapt.
